Zero/low Emission Aircraft Integration into Future European Air Traffic System ZEUS

Making room in tomorrow’s skies for a new generation of cleaner aircraft.

A smoother transition
to cleaner aviation.

ZEUS is developing an integrated framework to model, manage and assess how next-generation zero- and low-emission aircraft can join Europe’s future air traffic management network.

The project defines representative operations and use cases to explore mixed-fleet operations, integration challenges and performance impacts. Looking beyond 2035, it brings aircraft technology, traffic forecasts and airspace planning together to prepare for a changing fleet.

01

Model the change

Build aircraft performance models and future traffic scenarios for a mixed fleet.

02

Plan smarter

Explore redesigned departure and arrival procedures and pre-tactical flow tools.

03

Measure impact

Assess airspace synchronisation and the benefits of operational measures.
